ETF Flows: BTC, ETH & Altcoins
ETF Flows – BTC ETFs have been recovering from the 13th July low in cumulative flows, winning back about two-thirds of the $8.91B that flowed out between the 6th May peak and 13th July. The past week (12th–16th October) broke that run with $229M of net outflows, and ETH ETFs lost $320M over the same week.
NEAR joins the ETF charts this week: Bitwise's NEAR ETF (NRR) began trading on 29th September and has drawn $83.0M of net inflows to date. It took in the most of any altcoin ETF over the past week at $11.6M, ahead of LINK at $790K. Net outflows came from SOL ($25.5M), ZEC ($19.1M), HYPE ($17.6M), XRP ($1.84M), DOGE ($538K) and BNB ($285K).
Adjusted for market cap, NEAR has the largest 20-day rolling net ETF inflow among altcoin ETFs, at around 1.28% of token market cap as of 16th October, though 43% of the fund's inflows to date came on its launch day. Its ETF took in money on four of the five days even as NEAR fell about 14% over the week, more than BTC (3%), SOL (6%) or ZEC (10%).

Coinbase and Marqeta Expanded Their Partnership to Let Businesses Offer Payment Cards Backed by Stablecoin Balances
The selloff in US tech shares extended last Friday, sending the Nasdaq-100 to its worst week (-5.5%) since April 2025 as chipmakers fell for an eighth consecutive day, their longest slide since 2008. US Treasuries showed tentative signs of reclaiming their safe-haven status, with 10-year yields down around 16bps and 30-year yields close to 20bps, while BTC fell to $80K before reclaiming $82K in Asian trading hours. Coinbase and Marqeta are expanding their partnership to let businesses offer payment cards backed by customers’ stablecoin balances, with settlement on Coinbase’s Base network.

Markets Price an 85% Chance the Fed Holds Rates in October After Warsh's Remarks
Dip buying helped US equities recover from a week-long selloff in risk assets, with the S&P 500 ending a three-day decline 0.33% higher, while credit stress at AI cloud provider CoreWeave kept concerns about the AI trade in focus. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh told the IMF and World Bank meetings in Bangkok that an AI-led investment surge is putting upward pressure on inflation, and market-implied odds of an October pause rose to 85% from 72% after his comments. BTC briefly fell below $80K before recovering to $82.1K, while ETH rose 3.4% overnight to $2,450.
