ETF Flows: BTC, ETH & Altcoins
BTC ETFs' longer-run trend is still one of net outflows. In the 84 trading days since cumulative flows peaked on 6th May, spot BTC ETFs have posted net inflows on just 37 of them, shedding a cumulative $4.15B. The past week (31st August–4th September) cut against that trend, however, adding $987M of inflows. ETH products saw net inflows of $218M in the past week.
Over the past week, altcoin ETFs showed a more mixed picture. XRP led inflows at $19M, followed by HYPE at $12.3M, SOL at $6.18M, HBAR at $399K, and LTC at $121K. DOGE recorded a net $344K outflow. XRP, despite leading inflows, still saw 1 net-outflow session during the week.
Adjusted for market cap, HYPE has the largest 20-day rolling net ETF inflow among altcoin ETFs, at around 0.42% of token market cap (as of 4th September). ETH's rolling net inflow is larger still, at around 0.62% of its market cap.

US Payrolls Rose 162,000 in August, and Markets See a 59% Chance the Fed Raises Rates This Month
US payrolls rose 162,000 in August, far above the roughly 50,000 consensus, with June and July revised up a combined 55,000 and unemployment steady at 4.1% even as the labour force grew by 683,000; two-year yields climbed as much as 8bps and markets now see a 59% chance of a hike this month. Meanwhile the US struck three Iranian crude tankers after the IRGC targeted two US Navy warships, and Iran retaliated against US-linked shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, leaving Brent above $97.

Four of the five worst performing large-cap tokens over the last 7 days are stablecoins: USDC, USDT, and Dai, First Digital USD. They haven’t depegged, they just haven’t rallied like everything else. AI and compute-related tokens populate much of the list of top performers – the category, like DeFi and other developer-reliant categories, stands to benefit from the incoming administration’s promised regulatory push. BTC Spot ETFs saw another inflows of $1.1B on Monday. All U.S. Spot ETFs have recorded net inflows of $8.3B since Oct 10, totalling 31% of their total inflows of $26.97B since launch.
