Chain Fees - ETH has outperformed BTC for the first time in several months, with the ETH/BTC cross moving decisively higher through the August rally after a long stretch of underperformance.

Fee generation, however, tracks volatility rather than spot performance, and that is what the series shows: Ethereum's daily fees have cooled from their 19 August spike - which accompanied the sharpest repricing of the month - printing around $0.45M on 27 August, back below Tron's roughly $0.86M, while Solana's most recent full-day reading sat near $0.79M. With volatility settling since that repricing, fee generation across the major chains has eased in step.

Real World Assets - RWA perpetual futures have scaled from a niche corner into a core market over the past year. Weekly turnover that stood below $0.4B last August peaked at around $44.5B in the week of 27 July, and while volumes have since cooled to roughly $16.2B in the latest week - visible in the volume chart above - open interest has held up far better, at about $4.7B against its $5.4B August peak. trade.xyz's builder-run markets dominate positioning with close to 80% of open interest, and crossed $4B on their own for the first time in the week of 10 August, with Gate.io, Bybit and Binance holding most of the remainder. The divergence between cooling turnover and resilient open interest suggests positions are being held rather than churned.
