Blob Gas Usage – Over the past week, blob gas usage has remained broadly stable at the lower end of its recent range, mostly fluctuating between roughly 0.35M and 0.45M. While activity saw several brief spikes above 0.50M, including a move to just over 0.60M, these were short-lived, with usage quickly reverting back towards its prevailing weekly range.

Beacon Chain Balance

Beacon Chain - Over the past week, the Beacon Chain balance continued to edge higher and continued to rise over 38M ETH for the first time, reaching 39M ETH.

However, BlackRock has now set the commission on gross staking rewards at 18%, adding an extra layer of cost within its iShares Staked Ethereum Trust on top of the product’s 0.25% annual management fee.

At current staking yields of roughly 2.74%, that staking commission alone removes around 49bps of return, before the 0.25% sponsor fee is even added.
