Market Snapshot: Overnight Moves

Daily Updates:
- A marginal recovery in risk sentiment yesterday saw crypto asset prices buck their recent bearish trend. BTC rose close to 10% intraday, just about touching the $70K mark but unable to extend gains beyond it. It currently trades above $68K.
- U.S. spot BTC ETFs recorded their strongest single-day net inflows in three weeks – SoSoValue data shows the products took in $506.5M of net inflows on Wednesday.
- Even so, flows have been negative on balance since the start of the year - with Total net Inflow of -$433.43M.
- Bitcoin ETFs had also logged five consecutive weeks of net outflows on 20 February, with more than $3.8B redeemed over that period.
- ETH ETFs saw $157.1M of net inflows yesterday, while Solana ETFs added $30.9M, marking their largest single-day intake since 15 December 2025.
- Altcoins benefitted from the improvement in sentiment — over the past 24 hours, ETH is up 8.6% and now trading above $2,000, SOL has rallied 7.2% to $88 and HYPE is up by 8.2%.
- US equities also rallied in yesterday’s trading session, ahead of a crucial earnings report from Nvidia Corp. That report ended up exceeding Wall Street estimates and helped quell some of the recent fears surrounding artificial intelligence.
- For Q4 2025, the chipmaker announced a record revenue of $68.1B, up 73% from a year ago and Wall Street’s forecast of $65.7B.
- Nvidia also said that first quarter sales for Q1 2026 will be around $78B, above the estimate of $72.8B. Together, the results helped push its stock price more than 1.5% higher.
- Yesterday, Trump delivered a State of the Union address that was the longest on record.
- On the economy, Trump described the US as “the hottest country” and said employment is at record highs.
- However, the revised BLS data show just 181,000 jobs added in 2025, well below the typical non-pandemic years.
- On energy, Trump argued that costs are coming down.
- The data shows household energy bills rose 6.7% between 2024 and 2025, and utilities have raised or proposed at least $92B in additional charges.
- During an event yesterday, St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem said that there “are a lot of tailwinds” that will help the US economy “grow at or above potential (2%)”. Those factors include “fiscal policy tailwinds” as well as "accommodative" financial conditions and financing conditions.
- On the inflation side, Musalem said “half of the excess inflation comes from tariffs, as best as we can measure it”, which he expects to “fade” over the course of the year.
- On Tuesday, Boston President Susan Collins delivered slightly more hawkish comments stating that “I think that it’s quite likely that it will be appropriate to hold the current range for some time. After 175 basis points of easing over the past year and a half, we are at mildly restrictive, perhaps quite close to neutral already”.
- Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has sold 17,196 ETH since early February, currently worth about $35M, exceeding the 16,384 ETH (then valued at roughly $45M) he previously disclosed withdrawing in January, according to onchain data.
- Vitalik Buterin says he withdrew funds as part of the Ethereum Foundation’s “mild austerity” period, aimed at ensuring the network can deliver on an aggressive roadmap while remaining scalable, sustainable and decentralized over the long term.
- He plans to deploy the ETH over the coming years to support an open-source, secure and verifiable full-stack ecosystem, spanning software, hardware and privacy tools, that advances self-sovereignty, security and Ethereum’s core mission.
- DeFi project World Liberty Financial has put forward a proposal to introduce a Governance Staking System that would require holders of unlocked WLFI tokens to stake them before voting.
- If approved, the system would introduce a 180-day minimum lock-up, weighted voting based on stake, staking rewards for active voters (targeting ~2% APR), and tiered incentives including USD1 benefits and prioritised partnership access for long-term supporters.
- Bitcoin mining company, Hut 8 reported Q4 2025 revenue of $88.5M, up from $31.7M a year earlier, driven primarily by $81.9M in Compute revenue, alongside $5.0M in Power and $1.6M in Digital Infrastructure, but overall posted a net loss of $301.8M versus net income of $152.0M last year.
- The loss was largely due to $401.9M in primarily unrealised digital asset losses, compared with $308.2M in unrealised gains in the prior-year period.
- The company is leaning further into AI infrastructure, highlighted by a 15-year, 245 MW lease with Fluidstack worth $7.0B in base-term value, while refining its portfolio and publicly listing American Bitcoin Corp, creating a clearer split between its AI-driven compute platform and its digital asset operations.
- CoinShares has launched a Hyperliquid Staking ETP (LIQD) on Xetra, giving investors regulated, physically backed exposure to HYPE with a headline-grabbing 0% management fee and 0.5% annual staking yield.
- Wallet in Telegram is expanding TON Wallet by introducing on-chain “Vaults” that offer variable yield on BTC, ETH and USDT.
- The feature integrates third-party DeFi strategies via Morpho, TAC and Re7, with the highest-yield USDT option advertised at up to 18% blended APY through a Re7-powered strategy.
